“Wow, the ATOMIC SUPLEX track, ‘Atomic Suplexed by a Girl,’ is a mid-to-faster-paced garage rocker that packs a serious punch. It’s catchy enough that you can’t help but bounce your head in time with the ‘beat.’ And it’s all over within two minutes; you can’t ask for much more than that. When you’re all done you feel like you¹ve had a triple espresso. That’s right, I said ‘espresso.’ THE SWANKERS cut, ‘Fuck Off,’ is just as rocking, but take away a little garage and add some UK power pop. Oh, and it’s got the sort of female vocals that just drive me wild. Individually, these cuts would be worth searching out. Together on a single disc, you really need to track this one down. (KK) “

“Kicking off with a banshee scream that embodies pure hedonistic evil, ‘Fuck Off’ is the kind of super-speed garage rock that gets Japanese girls riding motorcycles naked. Like the demented cousin of ‘Fell In Love With A Girl’, it takes under two minutes to slap you in the face, scrawl lipstick down your cheek, kick you in the nuts and throw you off the roof. Meanwhile, label mates Atomic Suplex dispense with the formalities (read: the tune) altogether, preferring to unleash one and a half minutes of pure offensive distortion. Both these bands are rare things of beauty – and deserve your ass for dinner.”

“Superfuzz double-shot. A double dose of totally trashy garage punk from Death Pop Records. The SWANKERS lead this off with “Fuck Off,”- a balls out female fronted attack of pure garage adrenaline crashing at you like a surging hybrid of the SLITS and the COME ON’S. Fuzzed out in it’s lo-fi terror, you gotta love it when she’s screaming “Get outta my life, Get outta my way, Fuck off!” Nice guitar licks, great melody and beat. Mean and not very clean. Just the way I like it. ATOMIC SUPLEX follows with a massively distorted rage of garage rock, “Atomic Suplexed by a Girl.” Billed as what Bill Haley would sound like if you had the worst tinnitus in the world, unfortunately, here the lo-fi production or actually no-fi production works against the band. There’s a killer riff and some tasty guitar parts in there somewhere, but it’s all lost in a screaching sea of static and feedback. While that may appeal to some, I like even my fuzz rock to be a touch cleaner than this. It’s a shame. Sounds like a great song under the noise, if the guys clean it up just a touch, they’ll have a winner.”

“While others are jumping on the merry-go-round and chasing the quick buck returning ensembles, Death Pop is quietly going about in a manner befitting all classic DIY labels and extending the view finder above-and-beyond the cheap hype machine and attention seeking luvvies and is uncovering the misfits, the oddballs and the plainly crucial head turning talent that the underground scene has to offer.
The next record rack-rumbling outing sees a gloriously bad-assed-basement-boogie-face-off between the Swankers and Atomic Suplex. Haven’t a clue how many of these babies there are about, but safe to say they’ll sell out faster than sh*t off a hot shovel. the Swankers step up to the plate with the short, sharp and sweet, and totally radio unfriendly ‘Fuck Off’ – a total (and dare we say), much needed car crash of a cut, that hones in on the whole shoe-string, and “play it ineptly philosophy” of The Mummies and still (to these ears anyway), sounds like a bastardised early career knuckle-dusting hot-rod Mono Men, backing a spiteful spat between the Babes in Toyland at their most unforgiving and a running for cover fast Suzi Q. Flip the disc, for more riotous rawk courtesy of the scowling and totally mental Atomic Suplex. ‘Atomic Suplexed By A Girl’ is so deliciously dirty and sleazy-sounding, you’ll be hot footing it for a shower, the minute its run its course and left your beleagured hi-fi in a state of nervous wreck. Scuzzed-up fuzzed-up carnage that insidiously takes its cue from Sweatmaster, as were with a hot poker shoved up their backside, and taps into the early back catalogue of the greased-up garage-trashing unholy trio of Mudhoney/Halo of Flies/Dwarves. Absolutely essential sell a relative if need be – you need this.“

Like Ari Up fronting a Raw Power era Stooges, they tear the arse out of anthems dedicated to second division male groupies, the joys of afternoon boozing and the, let’s face it, unlikely prospect of an appearance on Top of the Pops. ...the guitarist dedicates the final number to “all you c*nts who stuck around”, “F*ck off!” Pure f*cking genius!

“Oh my - so decadent its hurts, this thumping slice of bargain basement low production rawk ’n’ row is sure to appeal to lovers of The Mummies and early career Mono Men - a bracing whiplash serving shock of fuck you caustic trash punk pop with the frankly quaint and to the point ‘Fuck off’ shredding the ears like an early career incarnation of the Babes in Toyland twatting the living shit out of Suzi Q. elsewhere the riotous vomit strewn frazzled road kill that is ‘Outta My ‘Ed’ is a totally wired and out of it Ramones shimmying up to Shonen Knife and the Shaggs to kick seven shades out of the Shirelles - a blistering prime slice of pyrotechnic puke pop while bringing up the rear ’Top 10 Hit’ is a festering fuzzy fuck up crawling out of the primordial ooze of mid 60’s garage punk. Loveably loutish - more please.”
